In the year 2000, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). It all began with a little numbness in my legs, which eventually impacted my ability to walk. I put up a brave fight and resisted using a cane at first. However, I soon embraced it. Over time, my MS has progressed and now I’m using a walker – this phase has been much harder to embrace. Now, I fear a wheelchair is in the not so distant future and this is very scary!
I’ve recently joined an amazing MS bike riding group – WrestlingMS! This community has brought joy, camaraderie, and newfound hope. I currently ride a tandem bike on our weekly rides with the goal to build the strength and balance to ride on my own and eventually walk again without a walker.
WrestlingMS is devoted to helping MS patients like me find hope, strength and freedom by wrestling MS through cycling. The goal is to get as many people on bikes as they can and to do that, we need donations to purchase the bikes and gear needed to get MS patients cycling.
Will you join me in supporting our MS champions? Your contribution, whether big or small, will be deeply appreciated.
